Parents of children at Ballakermeen have been warned that vomiting and diarrhoea illness is circulating in the school.
The condition comes on quickly and usually resolves within 48 hours.
A letter from interim deputy director of public health Dr Oluwatoyin Amusan said Public Health is providing advice to the school on managing the outbreak, which includes additional cleaning.
Dr Amusan said: “There is no specific treatment for norovirus, however it is important to encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration, and ensure all your family and visitors to your home are able to wash their hands with soap (preferably liquid soap) and water to help prevent the spread of infection.”
“We would be very grateful for your support in helping us reduce the spread of the infection.
“If your child has symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting, please keep them at home until 48 hours after symptoms have ended, and they are feeling better.
“During this time, they should not mix with other children outside the home or visit local venues.”
