Braddan Commissioners has confirmed it does not own any road, land or car park on Marine Drive.
It follows criticism of the area on social media claiming the local authority has been ‘failing’ to maintain it as well as the Little Ness car park and footpaths.
The commissioners say Pigeon Stream is owned by the Department of Infrastructure whilst Manx National Heritage is responsible for Little Ness – but it does carry out hedge cutting on the road.

It added that due to its designation of ‘Area of Specific Scientific Interest’, approval is needed from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture before maintenance work is undertaken.
The local authority says due to its status it is ‘cognisant’ of the guidance issued by DEFA, which suggest the work isn’t carried out until September.
In 2015 the DOI transferred the grass maintenance responsibility to the commissioners on an agency basis, and it says each year the hedges are ‘flailed’.
It added that if the grass on the pavements become too long, it can be flailed at the same time as the hedges.
The commissioners says it contractor will commence work ‘shortly’ on the hedges in the parish.
