Peel could be crowned champions by Saturday evening without having to kick a ball this weekend.
Bizarrely the westerners will be confirmed as winners of the Canada Life Premier league if seventh place Rushen United get a result against Foxdale in ninth.
Admittedly, the league is all but sewn up anyway, with Peel set to win a second title in three years, but it’s still a nice quirk of the season.
Stepping down to Ardern & Druggan Division Two, Braddan will be confirmed as champions if they beat Governors Athletic at Noble’s Park on Saturday afternoon.
As if that wasn’t enough, Onchan can move within a point of sealing the Combi One title if they beat Rushen.
However, if the Spaniards win they will go three points clear of the O’s, however (again), Onchan will have a game in hand and a superior goal difference.
Who’s Going Up?
The promotion race in Division Two remains the hottest thing in Manx football not to be served with a napkin through a hatch, with RYCOB, Old Boys and Colby all still within a chance of claiming the second spot behind Braddan.
Colby face Michael at home this weekend, with RYCOB heading to D&D and Old Boys taking the trip south of the Fairy Bridge to face Malew.
Around the Grounds
Away from the title races and promotion battle, Laxey face Ayre, Corinthians head to Ramsey and St John’s host Union Mills.
In Div 2, the other game sees Castletown host Douglas Royal.
In Combi 1 Foxdale host Ramsey and St Johns head to Union Mills while in Combi 2 it’s Old Boys v Braddan, Douglas Royal v D&D and Pulrose v RYCOB.
