A Cold Cot has been presented to the Jane Crookall Maternity Unit by Hannah Spearing and Matt Knight.
The donation was made in memory of their daughter, Myla Joan Knight, who was born sleeping on April 1 2025.
The couple raised the funds themselves through donations to the charity, which supports bereaved parents.
The special cot gives other families experiencing loss invaluable time to bond and create lasting memories with their babies.
Dianne Rubery, Bereavement Lead for the JCMW, said: “We are honoured to receive this invaluable donation to the Forget me not Suite and are so grateful to Hannah, Matt and the team at Abigail’s Footsteps.”
They were assisted in making the donation by Abigail’s Footsteps, which is dedicated to providing support and counselling for bereaved parents and families and whose founders suffered baby loss themselves.
A cold cot is a cooling device used to preserve the body of a deceased baby, allowing grieving families more time to say goodbye
