Isle of Man variant British passport applications will soon be available online, with the new system expected to launch the winter of 2026/27.
The service will be accessed through the government website and will link directly to a dedicated area within His Majesty’s Passport Office.
It will make online applications the standard route for customers, with paper forms still available for those unable to use the digital service.
The change will complete the rollout of online passport applications across all three Crown Dependencies, with Guernsey and Jersey introducing the system at the same time.
Streamline Process
The government says the shift aims to improve convenience and streamline the process, allowing applicants to enter information, upload a digital photograph and submit their application online.
The cost of an online application will be £102, lower than the current £115.50 fee.
Guidance will be published ahead of launch, and support will be available at public workspaces within the Isle of Man Passport Office in Douglas.
Customers approaching passport expiry are advised to plan ahead, as the 5‑day Express service will be withdrawn once the online system goes live.
