The closure of the path on Vicarage Road to Saddle Road in Douglas has been extended until May 23.
The Department of Infrastructure says closure has been extended due to the path becoming waterlogged and very heavy underfoot.
It currently has a drainage team on site, which is installing a piped drainage system to divert some of the surface water which causes the muddy conditions.
The DoI team is also installing five inch stone filter material, to be topped with road planings in an effort to improve conditions for pedestrians.
