People from across the island gathered over the weekend to mark the UN International Day of Peace, taking part in events focused on unity and community building.
Saturday’s (September 19) session at Scoutshall introduced the Ruhi Institute, a global educational programme centred on themes such as service, friendship and community life.
Sunday’s (September 20) Picnic for Peace in Hutchinson Square brought together Interfaith members, the One World Centre, Café Lingo, Amnesty International IOM, IOM Peaceseekers and local residents.
Attendees shared food, activities and reflections at the Auschwitz Tree and Peace Plaque, with groups contributing perspectives on human rights and community connection.
Organisers said the weekend aimed to show peace in practice by strengthening relationships and welcoming others.
