Pet Owners Back Business Call for Courtesy

A pet sitting company says its only focus is keeping the animals in its care happy and safe after a row involving private fireworks.

Most comments on the post reflected other posts across social media of animals being scared of fireworks, with some residents asking and others thanking others for notice about displays.

The Paw Patrol Doggy Day Care posted about an issue with neighbours regarding the lighting of fireworks without warning during business hours.

The business stressed it is not asking for Bonfire Night to be cancelled, just for people to “communicate” about private displays.

Highlighted the specific risks to dogs, the company said a sudden explosion leads to “panicked pups shaking, barking, and risking injury”.

Backing calls by farmers, the MSPCA and emergency services, the company said: “So yes — we’ll keep asking for a little courtesy (as do the police, and local council) because we actually care about the dogs in our care.

“If that makes us the bad guys, we’ll happily wear the cape.”
