Manx Utilities has announced that its overhead line team will carry out essential maintenance on Friday.
The work will affect areas from Patrick Village, including Glen Maye and Dalby to The Lhag.
Manx Utilities said: “On the day, affected customers will experience an interruption in their electricity supply. If you are impacted, you will receive an outage notification by post.”
The work is required due to a fault in critical protection equipment. Manx Utilities stressed that while the issue does not impact daily operations or pose public risk, repairs are urgent to safeguard the network.
“This maintenance is necessary due to a fault in our essential protection equipment that requires urgent attention,” the statement read. “While this issue does not affect the day-to-day operation of the equipment and poses no risk to the public, it is crucial for the protection of the network that we prioritise these repairs.”
The team will also use the opportunity to complete additional work, including tree cutting, to reduce future outages in the area.
Residents with concerns or those who believe they may be affected but have not received notification are urged to contact Manx Utilities at 687687.
