The DoI’s plans for a flood defence and highway reconstruction scheme for Ramsey’s West Quay and Derby Road will be submitted to planners later this month.
Plans will be on display to the public at Ramsey Town Hall from midday next Monday during the Town Hall’s usual opening hours.
The scheme includes new flood defences, reconstruction of West Quay & Derby Road’s carriageway and footways, upgrades designed to support and enhance harbour operations, new harbour & street lighting and improvements to other infrastructure
Officers from the DoI will be in attendance on Thursday November 27 between 4pm and 7pm to answer questions and discuss the proposals.
The DoI said: “This project will safeguard Ramsey for the future, reduce flood risk and deliver a modern, resilient quayside that benefits harbour users, residents, visitors and the local economy.”
Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, who is also a member of the DoI, said: “Ideally this will lead to investment and regeneration of the whole harbour area, which would be great for the town.
“In the meantime, I’d encourage people to drop into the town hall to have a look at the plans and talk to the DOI & to make sure to submit comments when the planning application goes in.”
