PlaySmart Secures Gambling Licence

PlaySmart has been granted an Isle of Man gambling licence as the company moves into the B2C online gaming market.

The licence was issued by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission, with local consultancy SolutionsHub supporting PlaySmart through the application process.

The approval allows the business to operate its direct‑to‑player offering from what both organisations describe as a stable and internationally respected regulatory environment.

PlaySmart, part of the technology‑led PlayGaming Group, said the move reflects its strategy to expand beyond platform provision and begin offering services directly to players.

Chief Executive Nikola Trajkov said securing the licence was “a major step forward” for the company. “As we expand into the B2C space, it was important for us to align with a jurisdiction known for its regulatory integrity and long‑term stability,” he said.

“This licence allows us to move forward confidently as we continue building a scalable, player‑focused business.”

SolutionsHub, which worked closely with PlaySmart throughout the process, said the company approached the application with strong operational readiness.

CEO Lee Hills said: “Achieving a licence in the Isle of Man requires careful preparation and a well‑structured application. Our role was to ensure the process progressed efficiently and in close collaboration with the regulator, and it is very pleasing to see the licence now approved.”

Digital Isle of Man Chief Executive Lyle Wraxall welcomed the company to the island’s iGaming sector, saying the decision reflected the confidence technology‑led operators place in the island’s regulatory framework.

“The island continues to attract forward‑thinking businesses that value strong regulation, long‑term stability and a collaborative ecosystem,” he said.

With the licence now in place, PlaySmart will focus on scaling its B2C proposition and developing its player‑facing offering from the Isle of Man.
