The Education Minister has released new data showing the largest class sizes and the number of iPads and laptops available to pupils across primary schools.
In total, the figures revealed 1,694 iPads and 1,014 laptops available for pupil use across the island’s primary schools.
The figures, provided in response to a written question from Dr Michelle Haywood MHK, show class sizes ranging from 18 at Manor Park to 35 at Cronk‑Y‑Berry, which recorded the highest number in the island.
Access to digital devices varies widely. Onchan School reported the largest iPad provision with 197 devices, while Bunscoill Rhumsaa listed 110 iPads and 105 laptops. Several schools, Foxdale, Marown and St Thomas’s, did not submit data for one or more categories.
The Minister Daphne Caine MHK said the information had been compiled from returns provided by each school, with gaps noted where data was not supplied.
