The High Court has refused Kyle Brian Molyneux, also known as Johnson, permission to appeal to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (JCPC).
The decision, delivered upheld a confiscation order issued by the Court of General Gaol in March 2024.
Molyneux, described as a “leading drug dealer” and “principal player in an organised crime group,” had sought leave to appeal under the High Court Act 1991.
However, the court ruled his application failed to identify “any arguable point of law” and dismissed his claims.
The judgment stated: “It is wrong to suggest that the Deemster’s conclusion was based on a simple finding of unreliability.”
It further rejected arguments that there was “no or no adequate evidence”supporting the confiscation order, adding: “The court understood perfectly well what the reasoning behind the decision was.”
The court also dismissed claims that the respondent’s submissions were accepted “without due consideration,” calling the contention unfounded.
It concluded: “There is no arguable point of law raised, not least one of general public importance, which needs to be determined by the JCPC.”
