Ramsey Town Commissioners have begun the final phase of replacing the town’s remaining sodium streetlights.
They will be replaced by an LED lights.
A total of 549 old orange lights will be upgraded, with work starting this week and pausing during TT before finishing by July 2025.
The new LED lights are expected to improve visibility, cut energy use by up to 70%, and reduce long-term maintenance costs.
The switch also supports the town’s sustainability goals by lowering carbon emissions.
The authority said: “The new LED lights will provide brighter, more uniform illumination, improving visibility for both drivers and pedestrians.”
