Castletown Road (Four Roads to Shore Road, Gansey) has reopened this afternoon.
The northern section of the road from Shore Road to a point to the south of the steam train crossing has been fully resurfaced, with some repairs also made to the section of carriageway closer to Rushen School.
The surface water drainage system has been expanded at the low point of the road (to the south of the Southern Civic Amenity Site) in an effort to counter ponding after periods heavy or sustained rain.
Vegetation has been removed from the verge that was encroaching onto the footway.
All road markings have been refreshed.
The team that was working here is to start work on the A5 New Castletown Road from Monday (10 February) at Newtown in Santon.
