Lower Church Street in Douglas will close for up to a month to allow for demolition of the former Salvation Army Citadel.
Hesketh Investments Ltd has planning permission to demolish the building and replace it with a 44-bed hotel.
The road will close from March 3 to April 14 to allow for the demolition of the Citadel.
There will also be 24 hour two way traffic lights and pedestrian crossing on Lord Street.
The Salvation Army moved out of the building in 2017, relocating its mission to Braddan.
The Citadel Hotel plans include a restaurant, small bar area and reception foyer on the ground floor
