The Mann Cat Sanctuary has been very busy recently, including taking 28 cats from a single property.
As many of the cats aren’t neutered, the charity is seeking donations to help with its work.
Earlier in the week it was contacted by a mental health nurse who explained that a lady she cared for had got into difficulty with her cats, though it did stress the cats were all in “very good condition”
It said: “With what started as the lady having one unspayed female, a full Tom cat managed to get in through the window and cause the female to have a litter.
“Things very quickly escalated and the lady was unable to cope with the situation and so in the best interests of her and the cats we agreed to take them.
“The estimated number we were given was between 10-15 cats and kittens. When we arrived at the property however, it was clear that this number was very different and the final number was a staggering 28!”
Neutered
The sanctuary plans to re-home the cool cats and kittens once they have been neutered and spayed which the charity said “obviously is going to be a mammoth job at huge expense”.
As well as this, it has taken on another five cats from one property, with one of the two females being pregnant having lived with three full males. They came in with fleas and so have been started them on treatment.
Another three cats also arrived at the sanctuary with its owners having gone off island.

The charity said: “As stated above, we did miss posting about this month’s £1 day but this month we would really appreciate any donations towards the costs associated with these rescues.”
