The Manx Lottery Trust has bid farewell to its longstanding Chairman, Sarah Kelly, who has retired after a decade of service.
At the Trust’s meeting on March 13, David Christian MBE JP was formally appointed as the new Chairman, with Sophie Pearce elected Vice Chairman.
Sarah joined the Board in 2016 and served two terms as Chairman, overseeing a period of major growth in the Trust’s grant‑giving, rising from around £500,000 a year to more than £1.5 million distributed annually to causes across the island.
Reflecting on her tenure, she described the role as “one of the greatest privileges of my life,” adding that she leaves with “enormous pride” in the Trust’s achievements.
David Christian, who became a Trustee in 2025 and has served as Vice Chairman, paid tribute to her leadership, praising her “unwavering dedication, integrity, and wisdom”.
Sophie Pearce’s appointment as Vice Chairman brings further continuity to the Trust’s leadership team.
The Trust thanked Sarah for her contribution and said she will continue to play an active role in voluntary life on the Island.
