Sarah Teare-Kermeen has been nominated for BIAZA Woman of the Year thanks to her outstanding work at Curraghs Wildlife Park.
Sarah has been a keeper at Curraghs Wildlife Park for over 20 years before becoming the Park’s Team Leader alongside running a farm with her husband and young daughter, having also worked a short time in DEFA.
Sarah is an accomplished team leader, caring about wellbeing, welfare, and calmly supporting the team to achieve greater heights.
She keeps up with all the latest diet and husbandry changes, supporting the team in implementing them.
Woman of the Year
With a passion for Gentle lemurs and callitrichids, Sarah cares deeply about the success of the Park, whilst raising her primary school-age daughter and supporting her husband in the family farm rearing cows and sheep, and never misses a day at work.
Her nominator wrote: “Sarah is a constant pillar of support to those around her, calmly gets on with her job and would never blow her own trumpet nor take the limelight, she much prefers to hold others up.”
“She is a rock in the animal team and over the years has made a huge contribution to the work of the Curraghs Wildlife Park.”
