The Southern Civic Amenity Site has introduced a new limit meaning residents are only allowed to dispose of six small bags of waste a month.
It says the change in policy isn’t ‘unreasonable’ and will be monitored by staff, but it claims all sites across the Island have a similar approach.
Residents who visit the site regularly to deposit recycling and grass cuttings should not be affected by the change.
The amenity site board has also confirmed the reuse area has closed because there is no money in the budget but hopes a new arrangement with a charity shop will ‘benefit’ the community.
