Seven Sheep Injured in Dog Attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after seven sheep were injured, one fatally, in a dog attack near Foxdale between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

The Western Neighbourhood Policing Team say the incident happened in a field on the track leading to the Isle of Man Observatory, with one animal having to be put down due to severe injuries.

The family who own the flock say the attack occurred between Thursday evening and Friday morning, with injuries discovered early on Friday.

They reported that one sheep was put to sleep after sustaining two broken back legs and a deep neck wound, another sheep had a broken leg, whilst five others sustained neck and leg injuries.

Appeal For Witnesses

They have urged residents around Lhoobs Road to check Ring doorbell or CCTV footage, report any loose dogs seen overnight, and share anything that may help identify the animal responsible.

They warned that stress from such attacks can cause further deaths in the days that follow.

The family thanked Vannin Vets, the Isle of Man Constabulary and local helpers for their support.
