Tynwald is to be asked to support a motion today for supposedly annual reports to be published.

The Public Service Commission is  legally required to submit an annual report each financial year and lay it before Tynwald, but hasn’t done this since 2021.

Moving the motion is Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper, who has been pushing for the reports to be published in the last few weeks.

Speaking to Manx.News, he said: “The previous Minister committed to publishing these reports in January.

“The motion asks them to lay them in front of Tynwald in January. So I’d like to think the government will say yes, that’s fine, because we’ve already committed to doing this.

“But really, the point that I’m trying to make with this motion is when you have a statutory obligation, when the law says you must do something, you must do it.”

He added that “the fact that they’re just not publishing it, and they haven’t published it at all for the entirety of this administration, I think, is fundamentally wrong”.
