Solar Panel is Saving Authority Money

Ramsey Commissioners Town Hall

Ramsey Town Commissioners have released a performance update on the solar panel installation at the Town Hall.

Now operational for over a year, the project has delivered significant environmental and financial benefits.

“The environmental benefits to date are a saving of over 9000 kilograms (9 metric tonnes) of CO2 emissions,” said the Commissioners.

“This is the equivalent of planting around 350 trees and letting them grow for 10 years, or powering a car to travel 71,000 miles.”

Financially, the solar panels have cut costs substantially.

“This represents a saving of around £3,100 from the annual electricity bill for the Town Hall,” said the Commissioners.

The system has also generated surplus energy, with the authority saying it has also been able to sell some power back to the grid.
