A report by a Tynwald committee into regulation of the Steam Packet will not be ready for the end of this month.
Tynwald ordered the committee to report back on its finding by the end of September.
However, in an update, the committee, chaired by Jason Moorhouse, with Ann Corlett and Dr Michelle Haywood, said this would not be met.
It said that it has finished gathering the majority of its evidence and the report is “at an advanced stage”.
However, the committee added: “However, the government’s approach to sea services has continued to evolve since we began our inquiry, and recent developments have required us to make further amendments to our report.
“We will be in a position to publish it before the end of this calendar year, for debate in the first quarter of 2025.”
