A rare and awe-inspiring piece of maritime history will sail into Douglas Harbour next month – and you have the chance to go on board.
From July 2 to 7, the Spanish tall ship Galeón Andalucía will be open to the public for tours, offering visitors a chance to step back in time and explore five of her decks.
The visit, arranged by Vela Cuadra Producciones in conjunction with Douglas City Centre Management, provides a rare chance to see what Spanish galleons were like.

City Centre Manager, Oliver Cheshire, said: “The opportunity to bring a piece of Spanish history to the Isle of Man is one we are very excited about.
“El Galeon was used by the Spanish Crown for maritime expeditions during the 16th to 18th centuries and represents the iconic vessels that played a crucial role in global trade and exploration that connected Spain with the Americas and Asia and were instrumental in the first circumnavigation of the globe.
“Since the launch of the replica, she has sailed across the world’s great oceans and seas, covering tens of thousands of nautical miles in tribute to its historic predecessors, visiting ports in many continents and participating in many cultural projects.
