Ballakermeen’s Head Teacher has written to parents following the unexpected death of a student.
Graeme Corrin sent the letter to parents and guardians expressing his and his staffs’ condolences to the family.
Mr Corrin wrote: “It is with great sadness that I have to tell you of the unexpected death of one of our Year 9 students. Our thoughts are with the student’s family at this extremely sad time.
“When someone dies it is normal for their friends and family to experience lots of different feelings like sadness, anger and confusion.
“The Department’s Bereavement Response Team will be in present in school tomorrow to support students who may need time to talk things through and they will provide further support and guidance over the coming days.
“Thank you for your understanding and support at this very difficult time.”
