Team Isle of Man Ready For Glasgow

The island’s Commonwealth Games Association has announced the 24 athletes who will fly the flag at Glasgow 2026.

Athletics is led by Sarah Astin, Regan Corrin, Ollie Lockley and David Mullarkey, while cycling includes Manx stars Matt Bostock and Ben Swift.

In swimming, a 12-strong squad features Peter Allen, Libby Curphey and Lauren Dennett among others. Gymnast Harry Eyres, bowls trio Michael Collister, Mark McGreal and Caroline Whitehead, plus para powerlifter Alfie Bezance complete the line-up.

At only 17, Bezance secured a bipartite place in the Heavyweight Para Powerlifting event. He is ranked 11th in the Commonwealth and was only officially classified in June 2025.

Team Isle of Man Chef de Mission, Erica Bellhouse, said: “We’d like to congratulate all those selected to represent the Isle of Man at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, having achieved the requisite standards, and look forward to the Island getting behind the team for what is the largest global multi-sport event after the Olympics.”

She added: “We are especially pleased to have secured a bipartite place for Alfie Bezance to compete in the Heavyweight Para Powerlifting event. His great success has resulted in him being selected for the Team GB pathway for the 2028 Paralympics in Los Angeles.”
