Peel Lifeboat Station has celebrated a volunteer’s five decades of service to the RNLI.
Eddie Allen has been with the charity for a quarter of its entire existence.
To make his half-century, First Deemster and Deputy Governor Andrew Corlett presented Eddie with an award and chairman Stuart Blackley gave a speech on his time with the station.
The station said: “In Peel’s era of Inshore Lifeboats Eddie served as a Helmsman, earning recognition from the RNLI in 1980 for his role in rescuing two crew from a grounded fishing vessel.”
More recently, Eddie has been serving as one of the station’s launch authorities.
