The leader of Douglas Council says people shouldn’t join local authorities expecting to ‘change the world’ quickly.
Claire Wells believes it takes time to see ‘progress’ adding the decisions made by the council affect the community directly.
Local Authority Elections are taking place across the Island on Thursday, 24 April.
Councillor Wells says people who are ‘passionate’ about their area should consider standing.
