Bus Vannin will look to run hourly bus services on main routes from tomorrow with the MER due to be brought into use.
This follows the confirmation that Unite the Union member bus drivers will be on strike from Saturday morning.
The government said: “With challenge of unknown staffing levels the Division is looking to deliver an hourly service on main corridors, expanding that that service once resource is known. This timetable will be posted shortly.
“We would like to thank our divisional colleagues for supporting our transport needs by preparing to open the Manx Electric Railway ready for Monday – to support school and commuter travel.”
Timetables are due to be published shortly.
Due to resource challenges the Banks Circus Depot will be closed for public access from tomorrow for the duration of the strike, lost property will be diverted to the Welcome Centre.
