The Fire & Rescue Service has paid tribute to former colleague David Corlett, who died earlier this month.
Mr Corlett, from Kirk Michael, served 35 years at Kirk Michael Station.
Early in his career, he was among the firefighters who responded to the Summerland disaster. He later rose through the ranks to retire as Station Officer.
A funeral service will be held at Michael Parish Church on Friday.
On request of his family, the service extended an open invitation to all past and present colleagues, as well as anyone who knew him attend.
It added: “Our thoughts go out to his wife Vivienne and family.”
