Friends, bands and businesses have paid to tribute to local legend Raz McVeighty after his sudden passing.
A dedicated music and York City fan, Raz was instantly recognisable with his big hair and bigger personality.
Many of the tributes fit a similar theme that above all else, Raz was the sort of person who was a friend to everyone he met.
Having been a regular fixture in Bushy’s pubs and events, Raz even had a beer named after him when the brewery launched its Goth IPA beer complete with a cartoon Raz as its logo.
As well as hundred of tribute being posted on social media, local band Swarf Damage said they are “absolutely devastated having learned of the passing of our friend”.
They added: “A true champion of underground and grass roots music, a warm and genuine human whom lived for what he loved. We’ll miss you mate.”
Punk trio Smoking Fingers added: “He was a truly lovely fella, always making people feel at home and striking conversation with more or less everybody!
“We were really looking forward to seeing him at the upcoming gigs, so we’ll be raising a good few drinks to him when the time comes!!
“A genuine local legend with a cracking sense of humour. Rest easy mate, you’ll be missed x”
