In the early hours of this morning (January 9) two fire appliances from Ramsey were called to a fire in an outbuilding shed at a property in Jurby.
On arrival the Officer in Charge of the first appliance quickly identified smoke issuing from the structure.
The fire service said that “6 BA wearers were deployed to fight the blaze”.

The fire was identified and extinguished using two 45mm jets and one high-pressure hose reel from both inside the structure and from the outside as it had broken through the roof of the shed.
Once extinguished, crews checked for hot spots with thermal imaging cameras and ventilated the structure.
The fire crews from the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service remained in attendance for approximately two and a half hours.

Last year, four firefighters from the island raised more than £2,000 by taking on the 6 Peaks challenge.
In October 2023, Elliott Moore, Amber Carridge, Sam Quilleash and Mark Caley took part in the self-funded challenge.
Their aim was to climb each of the 6 highest peaks respectively in the UK and Ireland.
The foursome raised a total of £2,428 which has been split between The Fire Fighters Charity and Isle Listen.
A cheque was handed over to the two charities in December.
