Tynwald has approved changes to electronic voting procedures, with members backing amendments that exempt procedural motions from the system.
The amendments, moved by David Ashford and seconded by Lawrie Hooper, mirror those passed in the House of Keys last week and include provisions for building a proper voting record for members.
Clare Barber, who moved the original motion, said the main intention was to ensure “a system that both is accessible and easily interpretable by the people who ultimately we’re here to represent.”
The motion passed with 21 votes in the House of Keys and six in the Legislative Council, with no opposition.
