The Infrastructure Minister will provide an update on the Sea Services Framework when Tynwald sits this week.
Dr Michelle Haywood (now Tim Crookall) will deliver the long update to members which was promised at last year’s Government Conference.
The agreement, established after the Steam Packet was bought by taxpayers, sets out how the company will operate.
A working group was established by the DoI to develop a new framework for sea services in the latter part of 2025.
That group includes representatives from the Steam Packet, the Treasury, the DoI, the Department for Enterprise, and the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
In February last year, Tynwald supported a call for a new agreement between the Steam Packet and the government, which was due to be prepared by the end of the 2025.
However, a recommendation that the company should be run by a statutory board was rejected.
