These daily closures are to facilitate carriageway repairs. The closures have been timed to facilitate commuter traffic.
The closure is necessary due to the narrow nature of the road.
The closure order includes some contingency to allow for possible weather delays.
The DOI say that so long as weather conditions are appropriate it is anticipated that work will be completed ahead of the 21 May.
A team from Kiely Brothers Ltd will be doing repairs across the length of the closure site in preparation for the road being surface dressed later this this summer.
A representative of the firm will visit premises within the closure ahead of works commencing to explain arrangements for access during the closure periods.
