Vagabonds Ladies ended their Women’s NC 2 North (South) campaign with a come from behind 27-39 win away at Littleborough.
Completing a season double over the Greater Manchester side Vagas finished second in their league, but could drop a place or two depending on other results.
With Vagas running in seven tries, Maylyn Campbell led the charge with the number 8 touching down four times, with Freya Crowe, Leona McGovern and Greeba Tasia adding one try each, Sammie Mac kicked the rest of the points.
Vagas said: “Littleborough brought their A-game (and some new faces!), and the first half was seriously tight.
“We went into half time down, but the second half? Different story.
“Our attack was sharp, the scrums were fierce, and all that work on defence paid off. The girls put some cracking tries on the board, and we secured our first away win – what a way to end the season!”
The team was also presented with an engraved port decanter and pourer by their opponents to make their season.
It is engraved with the message ‘May the friends you drink with today, be the friends we drink with tomorrow’.
