Vagabonds Ladies Team almost pulled off a stunning second half comeback on Saturday as they narrowly lost to Winnington Park.
They lost 29-34 at Ballafletcher having trailed 5-22 at half-time.
Despite the defeat, Vagas ran in five tries with a brace from Freya Crowe and Roseena Mcnair and Maulyn Campbell adding one herself and Sammie Mac kicking two conversions.
The team said: “Winnington Park burst onto the pitch with intent, and showed their strength by taking an early lead. By half time, we trailed 5–22, but we came out firing in the second half.
“What followed was an epic fightback which saw us close the gap to just one try. However the full time whistle came, leaving the score just out of reach.
“While the result was disappointing, there were plenty of positives to take from the game. The second-half display showed real teamwork, a great platform to build on before we head to Bury on November 22.”
