Visitors Have a Hoot at Wonderland Fun Day

One of the day centre’s in older people’s services held a ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ themed summer party for its visitors.

Last month, the Northern Laa Meanagh day centre was adorned with Alice in Wonderland-type decorations throughout the hallways, dining area and gardens for service users and carers to enjoy and become immersed in the fun.

Entertainment included owl handlers, who gave people the opportunity to hold and pet owls, and the group ‘Mine’s A Shanty!’ who performed songs of the sea.

In Day Services the aim is to provide service users a gateway to companionship, activities and the outside world.

Day Centre Visitors

The team give practical support, information and a clear pathway to other services.

This can offer a life enriching avenue for those that are socially isolated and help them to continue to be an active member of the community for as long as possible.

For a small fee, drinks, snacks and lunch are provided for the service user.
