It’s July on Monday, and I’ve barely been sunburnt or utilised a beer garden to full capacity; therefore, I shall be calling the weather average.
Look it, it’s not horrific, yet it is not dazzling sunshine, resulting in looking like a squashie. With that said, my horsefly kills have increased the last week, which surely will only get worse.
There is no pleasing us, is there?! It’s too hot, resulting in horsefly infestation. It’s too cold, resulting in chill blains.
Maybe I’m just in the wrong country; I would like sunny spring mornings until approx 11am, then blistering heat (with no flies) until 8pm, then a cool sea breeze.
Anyway, I digress, the weather forecast, that is why you’re here.
Average forecast
Outbreaks of rain and drizzle at first this morning (June 29); however, this will clear in the afternoon, allowing sunny spells to develop.
The light and variable wind will settle to the northwest as the rain clears through, with a best temperature of 17°C.
Tomorrow (June 30) is the last Sunday of June, which quite frankly is terrifying as I’m sure winter was only yesterday.
Sunday will be dry but cloudy at first, with the best of any (don’t like the of any part of that, Met Office) brightness coming later on.
Moderate to fresh northwest winds and temperatures rising to 17°C in the afternoon.

Hello, July, please bring better weather than your predecessors. I’m bored of average weather and you’re not getting off to strong start…
Monday (July 1) will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain (2-5mm of the stuff), clearing later in day and overnight.
Wind is forecast to be West 10-15, 15-20 in places, veering NW for a time.
Visibility will be good, possibly moderate in rain.
Outlook
It’s looking a bit better for Tuesday (July 2) as it’s forecast to be dry with sunny intervals, then patchy rain (0.5-3mm) developing overnight.
The Met Office has forecast the wind to be West 10-15, 15-20 in places, backing SW later.
Visibility will be good, possibly moderate in rain later.
Anyway, lets pray for serious sun and excuses for ice cream and beers.
