An MHK is calling for Tynwald to voice its dissatisfaction at the progress of the Auditor General.
Onchan MHK Julie Edge will seek support for a motion that questions what Stephen Warren’s team has achieved.
Mr Warren, was appointed by Tynwald and took up his position in May 2023 and is support to secure audits or assurance reviews of the accounts of a range of public sector bodies and undertake studies on the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of a range of public sector bodies.
Ms Edge’s motion asks members to recall that the Tynwald Auditor General would, by year three of the appointment, identifying savings equivalent to the cost of the Office.
Furthermore, she wants members to remember they asked for the Auditor General to carry out a value for money inspection of Manx Care in respect of all of Manx Care’s functions.
However, it is her third part which will turn most heads, namely that Tynwald is “disappointed by the rate of progress achieved by the Tynwald Auditor General in these matters”.
