Manx Care has expanded the availability of the RSV vaccine as of September 1.
The vaccine protects against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) a common virus that can cause serious breathing difficulties for small babies and older adults.
It is now available for those aged 64-74 that have a weakened immune system or long term lung condition not including asthma that is under control.
In September 2024 pregnant women and those 75 and over were eligible for the vaccine. The programme was expanded in April 2026 to include care home residents.
According to a post on Facebook, those eligible will be invited by Manx Care to attend a vaccination appointment.
