Windspeed of 94mph Recorded

Castletown Harbour

The Ronaldsway Met Office has recorded a windspeed of 94mph today at Castletown Harbour.

The Met Office says this is a “particularly exposed site”, and “isn’t representative of the sorts of wind speeds being seen elsewhere around the island”.

Meanwhile, at Ronaldsway and the Point of Ayre gusts of 80mph have been recorded.

According to the Met Office the 94mph may not be the highest of the day as the red warning is in place until 2pm
