A motorcyclist has been transferred to the UK after receiving emergency treatment at the scene of a collision on the Mountain Mile earlier today.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision occurred at about 2.15pm involving a motorbike and a car on the Mountain Road.
A spokesperson said: “The rider of the motorcycle received emergency treatment at the scene, and has now been transferred to the UK as a result of their injuries.
“The road remained closed for several hours whilst collision investigation officers undertook necessary examinations at the scene.”
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Craig added: “We have already spoken to a number of people who were present at the scene of the collision, but we are particularly keen to hear from anyone that we may not yet have spoken to who either witnessed the collision taking place, or who witnessed the manner of driving of a black motor vehicle on the Mountain Road between 1.45pm and 2.15pm this afternoon.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to appeal for anyone who may have Dash Cam or Go-Pro footage of either the collision itself, or of the manner of driving of this black vehicle to please make contact with our Roads Policing Unit at Douglas Police Headquarters on 631212, quoting reference 97/5857/26.”
