Police have issued a witness appeal to an assault after discovering new information.
Officers have been investigating an assault that took place on the Patrick Road, between Patrick Village and St John’s, in the vicinity of where the Royal Manx Agricultural Show took place. The assault is believed to have occurred between 10pm and 10.30pm on August 8.
A constabulary spokersperson said: “As enquiries have progressed since the initial report, police have established that the assault is believed to have involved persons who had attended a gathering at Knockaloe Farm following the Royal Agricultural Show earlier that day.
“It is believed tensions may have arisen at the gathering prior to the assault, and officers are keen to speak to anyone who attended the gathering or witnessed any incidents or altercations.”
One male needed hospital treatment following the assault, but has since been released from Noble’s.
Police say they are “particularly keen” to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already been approached by officers.
“We are also appealing to anyone who may have assisted in taking two persons home following the assault, as they may have information that could assist the investigation.”
