A non-executive director was appointed to the DoI despite there being no formal job description.
Minister Tim Crookall has outlined details surrounding the appointment and subsequent resignation of a non-executive advisor following a question in Tynwald.
Following a question from the now Treasury Minister Chris Thomas, Mr Crookall said the non-executive advisor appointed on August 31 2022 was Anthony Charnley
However, he added: “No job description was created and therefore cannot be published, however, a person specification for the role was developed.”
He explained that the purpose of the position was “to seek the independent and impartial input of a qualified professional or experienced individuals, in the spirit of public service to our island”.
According to the minister, the person specification sought individuals with experience in areas including civil engineering, project management, construction or civic or public works, technical training or experience in infrastructure and knowledge of government structures and functions.
Mr Crookall confirmed the appointment came to an end in early 2024 when Mr Charnley resigned.
