Years of Hard Work Pay Off For Christie

Manx athlete Christie Hands has made history as the first person from the island to win her class at two major international bodybuilding competitions.

Her remarkable season culminated this past weekend with victory at the PCA Pro Show, where she claimed the overall title and a £2,500 prize.

Competing at the Sweden Grand Prix, she dominated a field of 24 athletes in her category before narrowly missing out on an IFBB Pro Card, bodybuilding’s highest amateur accolade, by placing second overall among more than 100 competitors.

An IFBB Pro Card is one of the most coveted accolades in the bodybuilding world, signifying a transition from amateur to professional status within the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness.

The following week, she repeated her success at an event in Dublin, once again winning her class and coming close to securing professional status.

Her proud husband Danny said: “Christie’s accomplishments are not only inspiring but historic for the Isle of Man.

“She’s proving that athletes from our small island can compete – and win – on the international stage.”

Christie had already earned PCA Pro standing last year after winning the Miss PCA Universe Amateur 2024 title, making her one of only two Manx athletes, alongside Libbie Christian, to achieve this recognition.
