You Will Go to the Hall

Youth supergroup, Scran, will take their place at the prestigious Music for Youth Proms at London’s Royal Albert Hall this November, thanks to the generosity from Manx businesses, trusts, and individuals.

Earlier this month, Culture Vannin launched an appeal to cover costs for the group to represent the island on one of the world’s most iconic stages.

That fundraising target has now been fully reached.

Dr Chloë Woolley, Manx Music Development Officer at Culture Vannin, said: “The Manx community has been incredible in supporting Scran to perform at the Royal Albert Hall.

“It shows the value people place on giving young people opportunities to shine and on celebrating Manx culture internationally. We are so grateful to every business, trust, and individual who has stepped forward to make this dream a reality.”

Youth Proms

Scran will represent the Isle of Man on the opening night of the Music for Youth Proms on Monday 10th November, showcasing Manx music to an international audience.

Scran was founded by Culture Vannin through its Bree youth Manx music project, which was created to give young people the chance to discover, play, and perform traditional Manx music together.
