Assisted Dying: UK government should be “actively involved” in discussions say MPs

MPs are warning the UK government to be “actively involved” in discussions about what to do if parts of the UK or Crown Dependencies legalise assisted dying.

The Health and Social Care Committee’s made no recommendation for a vote on the issue.

However, it’s recognised it’s being considered in the Isle of Man where Tynwald voted to pass a bill on the matter.

Dr Alex Allinson spoke to Sky News:

Tynwald approved a bill last October that would consider it for mentally competant individuals with a terminal illness.
