Over the Easter Bank Holiday several butchers took to social media to explain the issues they are facing in getting produce from Isle of Man Meats.
Andreas Meat Company say it has had “to put the majority of our beef products out of stock on the website as a temporary measure”.
It said it is ‘struggling with supply from IOM Meats and we don’t know when normal supply will resume’.

Tate’s Traditional Butchers have blamed Isle of Man Meats for ‘not having a skilled workforce, lack of communications between departments and no leadership’ for its lack of produce.
It say it ‘once again’ had no dog meat.
Adding, ‘We should not have to apologize for IOM Meats incompetence’.
IOM Meats
On March 22 Isle of Man Meats confirmed to Manx.News that a ‘malfunction in a computer part in a control panel’ is to blame for the latest breakdown at the Meat Plant.
Managing Director, Rebecca Miah said: “We have informed producers we believe this can be traced to a malfunction in a computer part in a control panel, this had been bypassed at some point in the past.
“It led to the hock holder malfunctioning and breaking a hook. Whilst the company who supplied this equipment is now defunct, we have sourced a spare to arrive Friday the 22nd which will be fitted on-island and the line tested for use.”
IOM Meats have told Manx.News:
“As many are aware we recently had breakdowns of equipment at IOMMC, we are working with machinery that in some cases is 30 years old, and specialised, making repairs more challenging.
“This has resulted in a slower processing time during Easter where demand is higher. This combination of factors has created some stock availability issues for which we can only apologise.
“We are trying to drive change within the business and are currently reviewing our engineering, stock management and sales to create a company fit for the future, and we will try to mitigate any impact of these changes on our stakeholders as far as is possible.”
